Mercedes-Benz NXT and Mojito Unveil NFT Collection ‘The Era of Technology’

Mercedes-Benz NXT, the Web3 division of the iconic German automaker, has partnered with Mojito, a leading NFT marketplace creator, to launch a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection titled ‘The Era of Technology.’ This collection is part of the company’s broader ‘Icon’ series, celebrating Mercedes-Benz’s design heritage.

The Era of Technology: Launch Details and Exclusive Collectibles

‘The Era of Technology’ is set to launch on May 21 at 18:00 CET and will be available until May 28. The collection features 780 exclusive NFTs, each priced at 0.08 ETH. This limited supply of collectibles includes six iconic Mercedes-Benz models produced between 2000 and 2017:

  • Maybach Landaulet
  • Mercedes-Benz S 560 Cabriolet
  • Mercedes-Benz CLS 500
  • Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6
  • Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé

These NFTs are designed with 62 distinct traits organized into five categories, allowing fans to own a unique digital version of their favorite Mercedes-Benz cars.

Discounts and Mint Passes by Mercedes-Benz NXT

To reward existing collectors, Mercedes-Benz NXT offers two types of discounts. Collectors of previous core collections, such as Maschine, Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons, and Mercedes-Benz NXT Eternities, will receive a 30% discount. Superdackel holders are eligible for a 15% discount. Additionally, collectors of Maschine and Mercedes-Benz NXT Eternities will receive mint passes, which can be used for one free mint (excluding gas fees) or a reduced price mint. These mint passes will be burned upon use.

And due to regulatory and taxation requirements, the sale is limited to collectors from the EU, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the UK, the US, and Taiwan.

Mojito’s Technological Backbone

Mojito’s advanced APIs and SDKs are integral to the launch, providing the web3 infrastructure necessary for Mercedes-Benz NXT’s NFT collection. This includes blockchain integration, user-friendly interfaces, and tools for streamlined token creation, smart contract deployment, and automated token distribution. Mojito’s platform also supports tiered discounts using tokengating and integrates with WalletConnect and Metamask for seamless user engagement.

Celebrating Mercedes-Benz’s Design Legacy

The ‘Icon’ series is designed to highlight different eras of Mercedes-Benz’s design evolution. The first era, ‘The Era of Luxury,’ focused on modern car production. ‘The Era of Technology,’ the second era, celebrates cars from the early 2000s to 2017, showcasing the technological advancements and iconic designs of that period. Led by Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener, the Mercedes-Benz design team has crafted this series to narrate the brand’s rich history through digital art.

Future Collections and Innovations

Mercedes-Benz NXT’s inaugural core collection, Maschine, set a high standard by partnering with artist Harm van den Dorpel and the art collective Fingerprints DAO. Following this, they released Eternities for selected customers and Superdackel, paying homage to the classic nodding dog dashboard toy. The ‘Icon’ series will continue to explore different facets of Mercedes-Benz’s legacy, with five more eras planned to unfold.

This collaboration between Mercedes-Benz NXT and Mojito represents a significant step in blending traditional automotive excellence with cutting-edge digital innovation, offering collectors a unique and immersive way to engage with the brand’s storied history.
