The day before, BAYC, the flagship collection of Web3 giant Yuga Labs, teased the collaboration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). The tweet from the official BAYC Twitter account contained a cryptic message, “Been a fan since way back,” accompanied by an illustration of a closet filled with Hawaiian-themed shirts. In the midst of this collection, a white t-shirt prominently displayed both the BAPE logo and a Bored Ape.

BAYC x BAPE Collaboration
The collaboration will feature an extremely limited collection available exclusively to the community. The launch is scheduled for November 4, premiering at ApeFest in Hong Kong, BAYC’s global event. Initially, access will be token-gated and available only to BAYC community members. Subsequently, BAPETAVERSE members will gain exclusive access. In December, the general public will be able to purchase the collection from BAPE’s official store and website.
As fashion and web3 become increasingly intertwined, we’re excited to announce this groundbreaking collaboration with Yuga Labs. Thomas Hui, Chief Operating Officer of BAPE, commented
Bored Ape Yacht Club’s signature ape NFTs have captured the imaginations of art collectors and cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Teaming up with BAPE, renowned for its distinctive ape motif, promises a unique fusion.
Founded in 1993 by fashion designer Nigo, BAPE, short for “A Bathing Ape,” has been an influential force in streetwear. The brand’s signature camouflage print and ape head logo remain iconic.
Our partnership was built on genuine, mutual respect and a dedication to our communities, who are tired of the everywhere-ness of recent sneaker and apparel collaborations. Michael Ghory, Yuga Labs’ Vice President of Apparel and Lifestyle, added
The announcement has sparked excitement among the Bored Ape Yacht Club community and streetwear enthusiasts. Thousands of likes and retweets have poured in, with fans speculating about the contents of the capsule collection. The official BAPE X account also shared the news, emphasizing unity: “Apes Together Strong.”
BAYC collaborating with BAPE on a limited physical collection feels like the most natural thing in the world. Greg Solano, Co-Founder of Yuga Labs, remarked
In August, BAPE celebrated its 30th anniversary with the release of a limited-edition sneaker, Forum 84 BAPE Low Triple-White, in collaboration with adidas Originals. These sneakers were dropped as NFTs, marking the brand’s first-ever digital asset auction.
