On August 3, Yuga Labs and game developer and publisher nWay announced their collaboration and the launch of Wreck League. This collaboration will mark the first time in history that the acclaimed heroes Curtis, Gary, and Blue from the NFT Yugaverse transcend the mother universe and are presented outside of the context of the OtherSide metaverse.

What is Wreck League game?
Wreck League is a cross-platform PVP fighting game featuring Web3 characters. Apes and Kodas NFTs join first, but there will be more of them. It will also feature digital mech parts for players to upgrade their fighters as well as leaderboards for on-chain prizes. Here is the gameplay trailer showing what the game looks like:

The Mech parts will be mintable through boxes (allowlist open, KYC needed) and parts can be assembled and traded afterwards. BAYC, MAYC, BAKC and Otherside Kodas NFT holders will be able to claim a free mech.
The game has a dual design with separate Web2 and Web3 versions. Moreover, Web2 will be free. This nWay marketing strategy aims to reach a broad audience that is largely unfamiliar with blockchain and NFTs.
Retention is supercharged by fostering in-game progression through upgradeable mech parts, enhancing gameplay, and incorporating asset ownership. The more time players are dedicating to upgrading their assets and leveling up, the harder it would be for them to leave the game. Involvement in events and tournaments further boosts user commitment.
Wreck League is a hybrid Web3 and Web2 project. Our aim is to unite the communities and players, leveraging the creative potential of the Web3 community to continuously enhance the game’s content. Explained Taehoon Kim, CEO of nWay
High-performance Mechs are crafted from 10 individual Mech Parts NFTs, and these Mechs can be disassembled, allowing for continuous customization. Creators with the best Mechs are expected to team up with skilled players to participate in high-level competitions.
Set to launch in September, the game will include four Yuga Labs the above collections. Mech Parts, collected and assembled by players, are NFTs that can be combined to create a full Mech character NFT. Notably, rare Yugaverse Mechs will also be available, adding an element of exclusivity to in-game achievements.
